Many families have taken the time to go watch the movie Baby Boss, produced by Dreamworks. This is a family comedy about a baby who believes he is the boss of the family and wears a suit. The baby and his older brother, Tim, immediately start a rivalry that soon ends when they team up with each other to stop the CEO of PuppyCo from taking over baby’s favored spots in the world and replacing them with puppies.
Although Boss Baby and his big brother Tim do not get along in the beginning, at the end, they bond together and become a great little team. Tim is an only child who loves spending time with his parents, but when the baby arrives, Tim becomes the second priority. The baby takes this and uses it to make Tim upset. Tim then investigates the baby because he feels the baby is suspicious. He finds that the baby is on a spy mission and only Tim can help him.
This story is told from Tim’s point of view, and he is a 7 year old with a vivid imagination. This creates a dramatic and bold understanding of Tim and what he thinks about the new baby. The movie has crazy wild graphics about what Tim and the baby do throughout the movie. The graphics give you a real feeling of what’s going on inside Tim’s head and in their home. One of the most graphic-filled parts is when Tim and the baby go into their imaginative minds and become pirates.
Another thing that is interesting about this movie is the voices. The main characters are Tim, Boss Baby, Mom, Dad and Francis Francis. These roles are voiced by Miles Bakshi, Alec Baldwin, Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy Kimmel, and Steve Buscemi. The voicing helps shape the feeling and emotions of each character in the movie, even though it is animated instead of having actual live actors.
Though the movie is an animation, it was so well done that it had a huge impact on my understanding of the movie, because it shows the characters and their facial expressions without it even being acted out by real people. After watching the movie, you will realize that the animators created the imagination inside of Tim and Boss Baby’s head and it being animated helped me understand that imagination. The animation was great, mostly because it is very realistic and shows a better way of describing Tim’s imagination. The graphics made the people look like actual people, even though it is just pretend, animated people.
Although this movie is made for kids, there are many teenagers who find it interesting and hilarious. Children are in love with this new family friendly comedy.
If you were to go watch a movie and you were in the mood for a comedy, even if you are an adult, The Boss Baby will give you a laugh and remind you of your amazing childhood!
